Designed and built a database and web interface for screening and forecasting enhanced oil recovery projects

Process engineer, equipment engineer, and database/web programming - anything and everything to bring CdTe solar cells from concept to production. As one of the first employees at Alion (originally SunPrint), I was hired primarily to develop the high-temperature steps in our cell manufacturing process, running experiments to improve efficiency and yield and working with furnace manufacturers to build multiple custom furnaces for our pilot production line. I also volunteered to build a database system tracking all experiments and production in our lab and pilot line, an effort so successful that I began to build similar systems for other companies. After the plummeting price of silicon PV caused Alion to cease panel manufacturing, I founded Plotly with Jack Parmer (my main partner building Alion's database system) to productize ideas that emerged largely from this effort.
