I'm an experienced Cardiac Sonographer with a strong commitment to cardiac health. My mission is unwavering: I am dedicated to improving access to early diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic heart disease, with the ultimate goal of enhancing health outcomes for individuals and communities. I am proud to announce that I have founded Strong Hearts, a Darwin based company focused on providing quality, affordable and accessible cardiac diagnostic testing.My previous roles in the NT have allowed me to extend my expertise to rural and remote communities in the Northern Territory, with the hope of making a meaningful impact. I am also passionate in improving global healthcare. I've facilitated training and screening programs in regions like the Solomon Islands, Kiribati, and most recently, Timor-Leste. These experiences have broadened my perspective and reinforced the significance of accessible healthcare worldwide. My educational journey began at the University of Adelaide, where I earned my Bachelor of Health Science. I furthered my commitment to this specialized field by obtaining a Graduate Diploma of Cardiac Ultrasound at QUT. My career began at Flinders Cardiac in Adelaide, where I cultivated my skills and passion for cardiac care. Later, I found my professional home at NT Cardiac, where I had the privilege of contributing to cardiac health in various capacities. In more recent years I completed a Graduate Diploma in Management at the University of South Australia.With over a decade of experience in non-invasive cardiac testing, my primary focus lies in valvular heart disease, specifically rheumatic heart disease. My work with Menzies School of Health Research in particular has seen my participation in multiple studies and projects in Australia and Timor-Leste. It's a great honor to have received recognition as 'Humanitarian of the Year' by ASUM in 2022 for my contributions to this critical cause.
