I was an instructor in the physics, mathematics and general education departments at BTC. I taught courses in introductory mechanics, electricity, and waves, as well as general physics and basic statistics. I taught face-to-face, online, hybrid and hi-flex model courses. I developed laboratory and lecture curriculum, and took part in two grant-funded projects aimed at converting established courses to an OER-based curriculum. As well, I helped teach blueprint reading to welding students (and learned to weld a little bit).In teaching at BTC, I attempted to tailor my presentation of material to the information that students would find useful in their chosen future careers. I was not always successful with this approach, but I believe I learned a lot through the attempt. I hope my students did too.
