This contract position consisted of full-stack development work, building a new application with a micro-services/fully decoupled architecture. I worked on an Agile team of 8 developers who all fulfilled multiple, fluid roles. Each developer worked intimately with every layer which included:- Database (MySQL)- Back-end (Hibernate, pure Java, Jackson, Rest Easy)- Front-end (Angular, Typescript)- Continuous Integration/Development Chain (Jenkins, Docker, Github, Sonar, Fortify, Openshift Cloud, Jboss server, Xl deploy, Artefactory)- ATDD & Regression (Cucumber, Selenium)

I developed custom Simulated-Annealing algorithms and user interfaces for the YMCA and the University of Minnesota, both requiring software for sorting groups of people into optimally balanced teams based on certain attributes. This included, researching the client’s current system, creating design constraints, and developing a standalone Java applet.

Conceptualized, designed, analyzed, and reported an experiment/study of Divergent Thinking skills at the University of Minnesota College of Design with Dr. Barry Kudrowitz. I developed custom software and tools for conducting the research. - An entirely self-directed project that was published in an international journal- Developed custom software in pure Java for participants to create Mind Maps—a brainstorming technique in the form of a directed graph of conceptual associations) - Ported the program to JavaScript for use as a web app where participants could make mind maps and collect raw data- Wrote Python scripts to organize and analyze raw data
