As part of NOAA's Navigation Response Branch, my position with the Navigation Response Team-Stennis (NRT-ST) focuses on the development and implementation of Uncrewed Systems (UxS) for nautical charting and maritime emergency responses. Our team is comprised of three crew members responsible for one 31' HSL, two small USVs, and one small UUV. My responsibilities as a Physical Science Technician are to maintain, integrate, operationalize, and further develop our teams capabilities with UxS. It is a challenging and rewarding career that allows me to be a part of every step of the hydrographic process. From project planning and logistics, field operations and data acquisition, to the final data processing and reporting.
