OSCAI is responsible for managing academic integrity and student conduct cases and appeals. As a student assistant, I organized casework and scheduled hearings and other relevant meetings. This afforded me the opportunity to better my understanding of the campus appellate process and judicial work. I also managed presentation creation and design for the Office of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity. Additionally, I developed the training modules for the Student Assistant Department explaining how to navigate the online case database.

I drafted memorandums on pro se petitions for post-conviction relief. I researched and helped prepare a memorandum reviewing a death penalty appeal regarding appellant’s alleged mental incompetency for execution. I also shadowed both district and circuit court judges while presiding over sentencing hearings.

The Carolina Judicial Council allows students to sit on judicial panels to hear cases regarding academic integrity and code of conduct violations. I am responsible for providing judicial insight into the charged students cases and deciding the student's responsibility and sanctions.

I was a lobbyist working to change Columbia city policy as well as on campus policy. I developed team management skills as well as organization and lobbyist skills such as creating and distributing one pagers and meeting with local legislators.
