By repeatedly analysing CFD results, I designed forward chassis canards to improve rear wing and floor efficiency and developed the rear wing via iterative design utilising my strong surfacing abilities on Siemens NX.Developed a strong understanding for composite based manufacturing from my experience using prepreg and resin infusion techniques to produce a carbon fibre, and currently bio-based composite aerodynamics package.

Designed and lead a two-month long application process consisting of four different interview stages, establishing 14 new enthusiastic team members from 234 applicants. During which I often had to present in front of crowds upwards of 100 showcasing SFR to young engineers.

During my 1st year on the team, after 1 month I was given the responsibility for the design and production of a complex steel and titanium jig for the spaceframe of the car, enabling it to be welded together with remarkable accuracy.On behalf of SFR Formula Student, I gained extremely valuable work experience at Metlase. I was introduced into a professional engineering environment, a consultancy focused on designing bespoke fixtures and mechanisms for clients using Siemens NX. I was put in the position of an engineering consultant with the technical director of my team as my client.Using MetLase's joining features, parametric modelling and titanium spring clamps, I created a jig that provided easy access to weld the chassis tubes and its tabs in place, those being the engine, rear diff plate, monocoque tabs and many more. I gained an appreciation for good engineering design practices and developed great CAD skills in Siemens NX, taught by their engineering manager.
