Throughout my career my main goal is to provide my services to a company that appreciates my hard work and dedication. KenMor Electric company has given me the opportunity to continue my development in Construction Accounting by contracting my services as a Cost Accountant. I have grown with Kenmor and will continue to do so. I am a Cost Accountant that is also learning the role of Assistant Controller.I am an important member of our month end close as well as WIP/forecast close. I completely understand the importance of project budget forecast to stay within our desire job margins. Developing great business relations with project managers is very important as construction is a very demanding industry and management requires a team that works together to achieve the company's goal in becoming the number one electrical provider in our industry.I am also well experienced In accounts payable (Gilbane), and I am the lead accounts receivable accountant at Kenmor. I am very familiar with construction billing forms and lien documents. Some of my project managers refer to me as also an AR supervisor because I supervise all billings clerks invoicing to clients and provide great assistance when needed in lien documents, certified online payroll submission, as well as contract review. The number one rule to become a successful project accountant is to know your contract and ask ask ask questions without the fear of your experienced being questioned.I have also attended AGC tax seminars. It's amazing how I worked almost five years for a Contractor and now I'm working for a subcontractor; the knowledge acquired is priceless.I love doing my month end Journal Entries,I am responsible for the reconciliation of all asset accounts and at the moment I am being trained to take over the liability accounts of our balance sheet.I assist in training new PMs in job set up, budget set up and forecast entry (WIP). Monthly cost report meetings are a must.
