Collaborated with internal program staff and external stake holders (Legislators, Lobbyist and Interest Groups) to shape, pass and implement legislation impacting education Ohio, including Report Card Reform, Fair School Funding, Teacher Licensure Reform and Financial Literacy Requirements.Kept in close contact with the Governor's Office on education policy and moving legislation trends across the country and how we can keep Ohio at the forefront of education policy in the country. Worked with the Controlling Board to ensure the Department was allowed to distribute funds through grants and contracts.

Met with Legislators to inform them of the agencies mission and purpose and how the General Assembly can help the Agency accomplish our goals. Provided recommendations to the Governor’s office on how the state can better become accessible for individuals with disabilities.Reviewed pending legislation on both a state and federal level to ensure individuals with disabilities are not negatively impacted. Handled all constituent concerns that come from Legislators offices.Assisted in Covid Vaccine distribution and allocation for all teachers across the state of Ohio, working with the Educational Service Centers to determine the best vendors and number of vaccines needed for certain schools/districts.

Worked on fundraising efforts and cold called prospective voters to raise interest in Representative Jonathan Dever as a candidate. Knocked on constituent’s doors lobbying for their vote. Strategized plans for interns and volunteers to knock on doors. Worked with Representative Dever and our Political Director to ensure we presented a clear and solid message.

Managed all social media including writing, editing, and posting content, created communication plans, wrote and edited press and media releases. Helped develop, maintain and update content on the internal website. Planned and coordinated award ceremonies and events with outside businesses including internal communications plan and award ceremony programs. Documented events via photo and video for use in social media, web, and print marketing. Wrote the weekly Cabinet and Legislative Reports for the Agency that were then delivered to the Governor’s office. Worked closely with the other Legislative Liaison’s who were in Healthcare related agencies tracking bills that would impact the State Healthcare Agencies. Tracked individual bills that could impact Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities and worked to pass bills that would aid the agency.
