As a chapter, we pushed beyond what was expected of us and were recognized through these awards: The Most Outstanding Chapter Development 2016, Chapter of the Month for January, the Blue Chip award and the Most Outstanding Engineering Organization at UT Dallas. We raised over $15,000 and were able to take 11 members to the SHPE National Conference and 17 to the Regional Leadership Development Conference. We also hosted a SHPE regional event, which resulted in a 60% increase in attendance and sponsorship from Goldman Sachs, Lockheed Martin, Texas Instruments, Bell Helicopter and Call-Em-All. The last thing I did as president was host the first ever SHPE at UT Dallas Gala which had 70 attendees that included members, alumni, and corporate sponsors. This event was the culmination of all the experiences I had as president of SHPE. It reminded us all of the importance of perseverance and overcoming challenges that brought us closer as a family and allowed us to celebrate our accomplishments. -
Product Engineer InternTexas Instruments May 2015 - Aug 2015Dallas/Fort Worth AreaWhile at Texas Instruments, I was tasked with addressing technical issues like side-band suppression and OIP3 on one of the most integrated RF to SerDes transceivers in industry. The big obstacle during my internship was being unfamiliar with the technology, radio frequency transmitters, and receivers. To tackle this problem, I sought out help from my manager, read on my own, and set up meetings with the Ph.D. analog circuit designers. I also created documentation along the way and at the end of my internship, I fixed inaccurate documented parameters like side-band suppression and concluded that there was nothing wrong with all of the customer returned chips that I validated. For the final intern performance review, I received the highest score for curiosity and my manager stated my area of strength was, “Getting things done and learning fast.” -
