I have been working in the UCLA Anthropology Department on a research project aimed at rearticulating the UCLA osteological collection, as well as digitizing the collection for remote usage by students/faculty, to aid in the rearticulation process, and to ensure the longevity and ethical treatment of the remains.

Worked at an archaeological site in Malibu, CA where construction of a new public facility had recently begun. Our work focused on assessing whether this location was of any historical significance to the local Native American tribes and therefore if the construction could continue, or if a more in-depth survey of the site was necessary to ensure the site was treated respectfully and with due caution. My role consisted of helping map out units for excavation, excavating the units by hand, sifting through debris to find material of cultural significance, identifying culturally-significant material, careful record-keeping of both the site and any items found, and consistent surveil of the active construction zone to ensure the site was not being inadvertently damaged or compromised by the construction.
