As the primary technical resource for “AI and energy” at the Linux Foundation, I work with the industry and research ecosystem to: - identify potential applications of AI to energy systems to solve technological and business challenges arising from decarbonization and the energy transition, bringing forward collaborative opportunities for open-source commons, open benchmarks and open standards,- support and coach the launch of projects and standards efforts within LF Energy Foundation arising from the identified open-source collaboration opportunities,- help all stakeholders share and develop best practices to make their organization and operations AI ready. This includes tacking challenges like trustworthiness for AI assisted decision making, access to real or realistic data and associated privacy, cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection issues, and generally navigating the regulatory landscape around AI

Strategic management and financial oversight of IT projects and activities dealing with :- Metering and quality of service, including the "Comptage au Fil de l'Eau" program which overhauls the metering systems of RTE to provide smarter and faster services - Management of data and information (Entreprise Content Management) across the organization- Health and safety management systems- Data services for customers and other stakeholders of RTE, including digital plateforms, Eco2mix, transparency and Open Data This portofolio represents an ~ 40 MEuros annual budget. Working directly with the Director of Data and Innovation, then Chief Data Officier of RTE, I also helped set up and launch an entreprise-wide Data Governance program, which was approved by the board of RTE end of 2019. I am currently running and expanding the program together with the CDO.

Head of a team of 15 account managers in charge of commercial relations with ~ 100 clients of RTE in the northern area of France : energy producers, distribution compagnies and large industrial customers. We work in close cooperation with local technical teams in charge in maintenance, operation, development and engineering, and with legal, accounting divisions, etc... in order to meet in the best way possible the expectations of our clients, either current or prospective (seeking connection to our network). We are part of the Commercial Departement of RTE within its Market and Clients division, with 6 other similar teams covering the territory of mainland France, a team of key account managers and marketing / accounting teams.

Versailles Area, France

Manager of a group of 15 R&D engineers working on the integration of new technologies (HVDC, renewables, smart protection & control systems, etc...) in HV electrical networks. The group :- contributes to large collaborative research projects funded by the European Commission such as TWENTIES (www.twenties-project.eu) in which we are work package leader on HVDC grids- provides technical expertise on functional specifications and requirements for HVDC projects in France such as the 2000 MW VSC interconnector being built between France and Spain- develops and maintains software used in numerical simulations of power systems for voltage and transient stability studies, such as EUROSTAG (www.eurostag.be)- realizes expert studies related to power system dynamics in the context of projects involving novel technological solutions We are actively involved in related activities at ENTSO-E level, such as the drafting of the European grid code on HVDC connections, and we collaborate with university partners worldwide on new methods and ideas in the areas above.In addition, I am convenor of a joint working group with CIGRE on "Recommended voltages for HVDC grids" (JWG B4.C1.65) which started in 2013, and have been involved in drafting proposals in response to calls for projects by the European Commission.

Electrical engineering expertise in the field of high voltage substations, in the central engineering office (300 employees) of the French Transmission System Operator RTE (8500 employees) : - Supervision of studies on the mechanical effects of short circuit currents in substations (carried out full time by 2 RTE technicians), and of various other studies realized by R&D units- Expertise in insulation coordination in support of regional units and international consulting- Organization of a network of 15 engineers to internalize transient simulation activities with the EMTP-RV software, supervision and realization of insulation coordination studies - Optimization, overhaul and deployment of new national procedures on the handling of short circuit current (2008-2009) and ampacity (2009-2010) limits in substations on the RTE network - Member of an international CIGRE working groups B3.21 "turnkey substations" and B3.23 "Upgrading and uprating of substations", member of IEEEFrom 2010 to 2012, I was project coordinator during the proposal phase of the "Postes Electriques Intelligents" project on Smart Substations, in response to a call for projects by the French ADEME. Together with major industrial actors (Alstom Grid, Alcatel Lucent, ERDF, Neelogy) in France, we drafted a proposal for a 4 years/32 Millions Euros project led by RTE. The proposal has been accepted and subsequently launched in 2013.

As part of the curriculum at MIT, research work on controlled thermonuclear fusion (ITER concept) in the Alcator C-Mod group, with 150 research scientists, engineers, technicians and Ph. D. students, and an annual budget of $25 millions. - Maintenance and operation of an RF heating system (8 MW, 40-80 MHz) in a team of 10- Design of an advanced RF impedance matching scheme based on ferrimagnetic materials- Experimental, theoretical and modeling studies of wave propagation in hot plasmas Ph.
