12-month post-graduate residency program to advance critical reasoning and clinical practice. Primary practice settings include VCU Health Pediatric Acute Care and Children’s Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) at VCU Outpatient and Specialty Clinics. Affiliated clinical sites provide additional clinical exposures to Early Intervention, School System and Inpatient Rehabilitation practice settings. Residents are enrolled in the Virginia Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities program (Va-LEND)

Provided Early Intervention services as part of a primary provider model to children birth to 3 years old in their natural environment. One of my favorite aspects of this position was utilizing the coaching model to empower families to care of their children by instilling competence and confidence in their role as a caregiver.

Warmly greeted members and guests as they entered and left the facility; provided detailed explanations regarding purchases, appointments, and collecting payments; and assisted clinic manager with daily operations such as account record keeping.

Provided care for a pediatric patient with neurological developmental delays; facilitated fine and gross motor, visual and cognitive tasks; and assist in feeding and personal hygiene routine.

Assisted therapists in pediatric and acute rehabilitation services including office management, scheduling, and interdisciplinary communication; responded to patient inquiries; and cleaned therapeutic equipment.
