His pain, lack of proper sleep or appetite, combined with over a decade of prescription opiate usage led to two comas and long term hospital and rehab stays. I visited six days a week on average for seven months in a row. This also required a 1.5 -3 hour round trip drive, depending on the facility.- Have been travelling to DC since 2000 to assist my father, a multiple cancer survivor. I have assisted in multiple post-operation rehabilitations as well as emergency care and rehab. He is alive and still going at 93.• Communication: Provide detailed medical histories to professional caretakers; understand, explain and undertake care plans with patients. Document and distribute as appropriate all medications and their schedule, all care providers and event requirements.• Resource Management: Find, research and evaluate additional resources to assist in ongoing care. Including rehab facilities, home health aides, food delivery, physical therapists and additional specialists. Interview prospective candidates as needed. • Coordination: Make and keep all necessary appointments with all care providers and other resources. Create and maintain master calendar. Ensure status updates are provided to care providers, family and friends on a regular basis.• Transportation: Provide safe, secure and punctual movements by private vehicle or taxi. Physically assist patients to and from the vehicle or on any walks. No one has been injured or late under my care.• Home health care: Food preparation, laundry, cleaning, entertainment and physical assistance as required. -
