Alongside my usual duties of Plant Equipment Technician, I am responsible for a team of technicians within the plant maintenance department. I co-ordinate the maintenance schedule and delegate daily tasks as required. I act as a first port of call when issues with maintenance or personnel arise and deal with them as appropriate. I liaise with contractors and organize their site visits where necessary to assist with maintenance and fault diagnosis for manufacturer specific equipment.I am responsible for the ordering of new parts; this includes speaking to suppliers to identify and assist with procuring the right parts and services we may require.I conduct myself in a professional manner at all times and maintain high standards of work from myself and my team. I ensure the department and work area remains compliant with Health and Safety and Quality standards by participating in audits and carrying out an remedial work where required.

Dawson Ltd I am part of a team responsible for maintenance of all plant machinery on site, this includes the likes of our mobile harbor cranes up to 100 tonne, forklift trucks up to 50 tonne, Reach stackers, Container handlers, Shunter wagons, Loading shovels, skid steers and many more various types of diesel machinery.I conduct regular servicing following a maintenance schedule, as well as being on hand to respond to breakdowns and carry out fault diagnosis and corrective maintenance to ensure operations return to normal with the downtime of the machine kept to a minimum. I have gained experience with manual and automatic transmissions on machinery of varying ages and worked on many different manufacturers engines including Caterpillar, Cummins, Iveco, Volvo and Scania to name a few.I also have skills with MIG welding and Oxy-Acetylene Burning/Cutting.

My role as a production technician saw me responsible for a number of different tasks on the production line for the manufacture of steel track shoes. These tasks include the loading and unloading of the product into a furnace where safety is critical, the correct operation of various high specification equipment and quality control testing of the product. At every stage of the process care is taken to ensure the best product and correct set up of the equipment. Whilst there I worked 4 12-hour shifts a week consisting of 2 day and 2 nights. I received manager’s recognition for bringing a potentially costly defect to the attention of the quality engineer for review and as such was awarded for my efforts.

The role I undertook at 845 Naval Air Commando Squadron required that I effectively prioritise my work and accomplish tasks to a high standard. The main day-to-day tasks involved aircraft maintenance, fault diagnosis and multi disciplined servicing. Competent with using technical manuals and wiring diagrams to assist with fault finding and system knowledge. I have served around the globe on operations, both onshore and offshore, within the maritime environment. Carried out depth maintenance packages on aircraft returning from operational theatre, this included major component overhaul and mechanical modifications.
