I am an experienced audience engagement professional, business development manager and fundraiser whose expertise lies in developing non-traditional arts and culture audiences and investing them within bespoke programmes of events aimed at promoting cultural literacy and lifelong learning. I'm Derby QUAD's Head of Technical and Commercial Services, heading up both the Summer Nights Film Festival and TECH:SQUAD - QUAD's in-house team of digital creatives, specialising in outdoor cinema hire, projection mapping, digital development and heritage interpretation. Any AR/VR/cinema queries most welcome!I spent three years as Derby Cathedral's Development Officer, responsible for leading on fundraising and audience development - the final six months of which I was the Cathedral's Interim Head of Operations, line-managing the Cathedral's verging, café and bookshop teams while working on income generation opportunities, and I have previously been the Open Centre's Operations Manager, Engagement Officer at Derby QUAD, and Audience Development Coordinator at Derby Festé.I am a published historian, having three publications currently to my name in academic, peer-reviewed journals. I have also been invited to present research seminars at the Institute of Historical Research and The Cinema Museum, both in London. As an empirical historian, I am an enthusiast of the archive; my research (which primarily makes use of the Metropolitan Police collection housed at the National Archives) always balances the need to provide an original contribution to knowledge with the equally important goals of accessibility and relevance outside of the academic community.
