Took up a role focused on the provision of general medical services for a Navy team at HMAS Penguin.• Reported to the Senior Health Services Manager.• Given the charter to manage day to day delivery of health care services for a community of 600 staff.• Responsible for business planning, practice management, outpatient services, workplace safety patient administration,trauma, triage, clinical services, fleet management, staff management, procurement, inventory management, security,management reporting and compliance.• Led teams of up to 5 medical professionals, working in a first aid facility operating in the same fashion as a general practice.• Provided patient care for Defence members through independent routine and emergency medical management in theabsence of doctors.• Coordinated all medical administration and managed staffing for a busy medical practice, working with customers face-to-face, in writing and by phone.• Liaised with civilian medical providers to coordinate emergency evacuations.• Worked with medical specialists such as Orthopedic Surgeons, Dieticians, Ophthalmologists, Podiatrists andPhysiotherapists.• Oversaw large scale medical assessment and inoculation programs for staff deploying overseas.• Prepared routine correspondence for signature by the Senior Medical Officer and authored reports that were retained inpatients' permanent medical files.• Handled sensitive and medical-in-confidence issues on a daily basis, establishing a reputation for tact, diplomacy andsensitivity in all dealings.• Managed security for controlled substances such as S2-S8 medicines.• Deeply involved in health promotion, including providing Annual Medicals encompassing phlebotomy, vaccinations, audiotesting and lifestyle counselling.• Regularly briefed management on work commitments, major events, resource requirements, operational readiness andhuman resource issues.

Provided medical training or team deploying abroad, including delivering lessons on everything from snakebite to compoundfractures, gunshot wounds and advanced life support.; Ship's Medic / Industrial Paramedic /; • Worked on HMAS Diamantina and acted as the Ship's medic for 45 crew.• Responsible for practice management, medical administration, secretarial support, customer service, shop front reception,human resources management, workplace training, occupational health and safety, personnel administration, infectioncontrol, management reporting, compliance, corporate governance and business planning.• Gained exposure to advanced first aid, pre-hospital emergency care, advanced life support, evacuation of casualties,resuscitation, hospital treatment and general nursing care for the sick and wounded.• Worked with conventional and unconventional injuries and illnesses in a variety of situations, including workingindependently under emergency conditions.• Took on several human resources functions in the absence of a permanent Human Resources Manager.
