I am a passionate teaching practitioner working in Surrey. I specialise in Pastoral roles but have considerable experience in curriculum planning and assessment from my time as a Subject Leader. I love my subject and have enjoyed planning schemes of work around a subject that has given me so much in my life. I have worked extremely hard to de-colonise the History curriculum and believe that History is a diverse subject that should be accessible to everyone.I believe that I am particularly skilled as a Pastoral leader and I am adept at building a rapport with students so that they respect me and find me approachable. I continually seek to improve my performance and recently have strived to improve the way in which I monitor people under my management in a light touch and positive way to deliver sustained high performance of my team. Outside of my role teaching History and as a Pastoral Leader I share my passion for rugby by coaching both a school team and at my local club. I do this because I believe in the power of sport to enhance children’s education and help give them life skills they can apply to their wider lives.
