When people first hear the word "chemistry" it evokes images of stress and pain from their previous studies. Although this discipline is by far one of the hardest ordeals I have gone through, it has opened my eyes to a broader world and given me a greater appreciation of science. I relish this discipline because of how hard it is. The added pressure spurred me to find a way to accomplish whatever was before me. It pushed me to think differently and be clever in my solutions. It has taught me the value of hard work and in working together to accomplish a common goal. Big solutions require teamwork and great communication between all parties is essential. It was a phenomenal ordeal, one that will stay with me forever. It has given me a clear picture of who I am and my professional value, which boils down to the following: - I hate losing more than I love winning, and will always give my all regardless of who gets the credit. When the team wins, I win. - When a solution has been found execution is key, many can make a decision but few stick the course. - Fluidity to changing markets and technology is something that must be taken seriously. Traditions are fine but if we stick to that logic, we will still be using obsolete methods for productivity. - When a problem arises science is a great first place to find answers.- I can read, speak, and write fluently in English and Spanish. - Learning more about the world makes for well-rounded individuals. When you think you have learned enough, then you have learned nothing.
