JBA Trust is an independent charity that aims to improve people's resilience to risks in the water environment by enabling research, education and training. I coordinate the Trust’s programme of research and STEM education activities and lead the operational management and day-to-day running of the charity, facilitating collaboration between academia, industry, government and other charities.

Secondment to help create and establish JBA Labs, a new initiative at JBA Consulting that aims to increase the scale and accelerate the pace of the development and commercialisation of innovative products, services, data, technologies and processes.

Management of the commercial research and innovation programme for JBA Consulting.

Development of a new CIWEM accredited postgraduate course in Flood and Coastal Risk Management, working with academics and industry to create an innovative course format for both practitioners and students.

Management of an investment programme to help improve the biodiversity of Yorkshire's land and rivers. Identification and delivery of R&D projects in collaboration with Strategic Partnership universities and contractors. Dissemination of project outputs and implementation of new processes and technologies into the business. Organisation of knowledge sharing events with partner organisations. Project areas include climate change adaptation, sludge treatment optimisation and renewable energy, remote telemetry, sustainability and catchment management.

Supported delivery of a wide range of projects and gained a technical understanding of how the business operates through placements with teams in Economic Regulation, Environment Strategy, Clean Water Distribution, Investment Planning, Waste Water Treatment Assets and R&D.
