Many novel techniques including asynchronous checkpointing and parallel replication were developed during this project.Drove technology adoption at Bloomberg for the Comdb2 project. First production deployments cheaper/faster disk technologies based on consumer grade SSD using DBMS HA features for availability. Moved entire Database cluster farm from AIX/POWER platforms to higher performing and more cost effective Linux/x86 platforms. Reduced data center footprint with Blade technology.As of today over 90% of all the data at Bloomberg resides in Comdb2 databases. Show less

Core member of small team producing key infrastructure powering all of Bloomberg's applications. This included high performance IPC, locking primitives, request routing, market data distribution and database middleware. Ported enormous codebase across all flavors of UNIX and CPU architectures multiple times. Influenced the direction of technology with DG, IBM, SUN to address defects and performance issues arising during this process.
