I've been a serving soldier in H M Forces since Jan 1983 and after a full service and 9 operational tours, and whilst still serving on a regular full time contract, I had spare time and wanted to pay the comunity back. so I did this via my prevous voluntsry work and finished off by going and attending a very demanding course at the university and gained my P G Dip. At the university of Strathclyde and In Nov 14, I graduated with full PG DIP status and award, im Al so a MBACP. However prior to 2012 I spent 5 years whilst untrained i workef and done numerours work in the voluntary sector gaing the correct experiences and certificates to allow me to attend university. I'm now fully trained psychotherapist, I work for various agencies in central Sctland mainly with the NHS at veterans first point (V1stP) and in other locations throughout central Scotland within the 3rd sector, these are charity based companies, such as faith in thoroughfare and adjust Like Us? these 3rd sector based organisation are helping with prisoners/inmates transiting out of prison with drugs and alcohol addictions, and in all o offer free psychotherapy for all as the current waiting time on the NHS is 12-18 Months, so I offer nearly instantaneous access to therapy. I al so am the focal point for all community engagements with what as known as the black and Asian minority ethnic groups across Scotland (BAME) I Act as focal point and mediator to all mainly Asion Muslim groups to what I would say has been a phenomenal success for the forces and the local population. I do all these activities on my own time and al so at a considerable monetary cost. but if I don't do it who will.
