Currently at Overland AI, working on off-road autonomy.I was at the University of Washington 2022 - 2023, for a postdoc with Byron Boots in the Robot Learning Lab.I finished my Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University, where I worked on improving control performance of aerial vehicles using nonlinear control and learning, with my advisor Nathan Michael.My long terms goals include endowing robotic systems with "low-level" skills that humans master before the age of 8: perception, understanding, and control (to achieve a task) in the uncertain and messy real world. I am interested in using simulations in the training loop to meta learn robust and adaptive algorithms that can optimize task performance in uncertain and (eventually) unknown situations.
