I love every square inch of this planet, even those I haven't met yet and I want to help care for it. I love life and life cycles of all kinds. Trees uniquely support so many aspects of our lives and the lives of species around us, of which we are so interdependent. Trees are a critical part of our environmental security. Caring for, enjoying and increasing trees around us is such a tangible thing to do and the benefits reach to virtually all, if not every, aspect of our lives and far into our communities in so many ways. I am very lucky to be able to enjoy this every day and hope we can continue to help many more people to do so too. The Forest of Avon is one of England's Community Forests, currently offering a flexible grant and bespoke support to enable 37% of England's Defra funded woodland creation - from urban trees to large scale woodland, hedgerows to agroforestry, innovative land acquisitions to community led projects. Since the launch of the Forest of Avon Plan in 2021, we have been able to support large scale and wide ranging tree and woodland creation in all corners of the forest area, as well as expanding our woodland management, public access and expert-led woodland activity for communities of need including people living with dementia and their carers.
