Social Media Manager
CurrentAfter my experience running a full time photography business and growing a passion for social media marketing, I joined Sewing Parts Online as a Marketing Coordinator. I quickly taught myself to sew so that I could teach others to sew online to grow their presence and build trust with their consumers. My knowledge for the psychology behind social media helped us to rapidly grow our following on all accounts.I strategically plan our content with both our audience and our company in mind: the audience gains a lot of value with tips and tutorials to enhance their sewing experience, and our company increases revenue as I strategically pick products we sell to demonstrate.I am very experienced with lighting and camera equipment as well as Adobe Premiere Pro to creatively edit videos. When our YouTube account was a major part of my role (since our social media team has dissolved to just me, it’s had to go on the back burner recently), I gained a deep understanding and even a talent for creating thumbnails, SEO-rich descriptions, and enticing titles. I also design graphics for our social media posts using Canva, cohosted our sewing-related podcast called Sew Inspired where we interviewed creative business owners in the sewing industry, and helped to run our live events via Streamyard during all of 2023 where we brought in educators to teach people niche skills in different sewing fields (quilting, dressmaking, etc) as well as gave away tens of thousands of dollars in giveaways. I spend much of my day researching branding, sales, and marketing, and also took an in-depth, 1:1 course with Chris Claflin to expand my skills in social media marketing.
