• Acted as the cross functional lead during the start-up of a 450,000Te/year wood pellet production plant, port and storage facility• Duties included (but not limited to) daily-weekly-monthly commissioning planning, progress reporting, construction contractor interface management, commissioning and operational snag resolution• Trained and mentored Senior Authorised Persons from scratch through to varying levels of authorisation up to and including 80KV interconnected electrical systems

• Acted as the lead member of the shift operations team, holding responsibility for up to 30 operations and contract personnel deployed within multiple plant areas• Delivered daily safety kick offs, weekly safety briefs, monthly team briefs, carried out quarterly appraisals, sickness interviews, informal and formal disciplinary interviews, coordinated training, shift cover, holiday release and had a direct input into both the development of the shift operations team and company succession plan• Interfaced with control room operators, challenging status quo’s, spot checking the running of the process to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the power station• Ensured company values were upheld by the shift team, improving standards and holding operations, maintenance and contract staff accountable across the power station

• Carried out duties as a Senior Authorised Person on mechanical and electrical equipment up to 11KV• Interfaced with engineering, maintenance and planning departments, prioritising operational issues, raising work orders and providing front line 24 hour multi skilled maintenance support• Produced and issued permits for work, implemented plant reliability and operational improvements• Mentored and contributed to the training of Designated Persons and other SAP's whilst on and off shift• Carried out duties as ths shift incident controller, dealing with fires, first aid, production and environmental incidents• Authorised for track side and rail safety

• Career commenced with the completion of a 4 year Advanced Modern Apprenticeship scheme in Control and Instrumentation• Following apprenticeship graduation, joined the control and instrumentation maintenance team, providing 7 day support to the operations team in the form of breakdown and routine maintenance of control and instrumentation equipment including; Distributed Control Systems, PLC’s, Temperature, Pressure, Level and Flow Instrumentation as well as Actuator’s and Control Valves• Gained experience working in all plant areas including; turbine, boiler, milling, FGD and materials handling plant• Gained experience as a part of the turbine outage team, performing routine instrument and control loop calibration as well as commissioning of plant during startup following annual shutdowns
