I spent over two years in this position. During that time I began to assume more and more responsibilities in regards to day to day operations of the body shop. For the last year or so I had become primarily responsible for all non commercial vehicle parts sourcing and purchasing, repair scheduling, insurance claims processing, vehicle estimates, repair bill and supplement processing, final billing, customer service, and repair documentation. It was a consistently fast paced position that had me constantly moving between projects both physically and mentally. This position helped me grow personally and professionally as well as allowed me to acquire another skill set in an industry that interests me greatly... automobiles.

I started with the company when I was young and worked roughly 20-30 hours a week while attending university, and up to 50 hours a week during some holidays. I served to supervise the dinner operations and handled menu selection, leadership for the staff, and handled financial deposits regularly. As, I approached graduation from college, I was placed in the bartender position so that I could leave the company to pursue a career without causing the company to lose a shift supervisor. While in the bartender position I oversaw the installation of a new point of sale system and performed all of the programming and menu modifications needed during my time in this position.

I spent the Spring and early Summer working with the supply chain team. This was my first career related position since graduation from university. During my time with this company I learned many things regarding the real world of supply chain management. My main focus was on demand planning and purchasing, but I assisted departments in manufacturing planning, distribution center inventory management, and contingency planning due to supplier issues. In the end, the position with this particular industry and company did not result in a good fit, but I learned many skills from my colleagues and look forward to applying them at the next opportunity.
