Project Manager

Castle Donington

Wincanton Programme From the summer of 2018 I was project manager for a programme with a total value of projects of over £3,200,000.00 for the UK’s largest 3rd party transport and logistics company. The programme was to design, implement and rollout ORTEC’s transport management and vendor managed inventory systems within a two-year period across the Wincanton Energy, Construction and General Haulage businesses. The programme itself consisted of three major implementations,• The first of which being the VMI implementation to the Energy sector. ‘Phase 1’ of this project initiated in July 2018 and went live in April 2019. • The second of the implementations was the larger TMS (Transport Management Solution) for the construction and general haulage sectors which started in October 2018• Integrating the client’s existing VMI solution ‘Phase 2’ of Energy and integration of WinsightWhilst I delivered the programme to the Prince 2 methodology, I adapted to suit the customer’s hybrid methodology consisting of Waterfall, Agile and V-Model principles. As part of the mobilisation phase I had a week’s training in Unified Modelling Language (UML) to assist in the 7-week and extensive 9-month design workshops. Between ORTEC, Wincanton’s own project team and their third-party systems integrator and testers the immediate project team based in Castle Donington consisted of over 40 people, with additional supporting teams globally. In addition to the Wincanton project I have been working on projects with United Biscuits and Warburtons to design and implement a transport management system and also with Waitrose to migrate their timeslotting service and TMS from their on-premise into the cloud

(Junior) Project Manager

In spring 2016, shortly after the acquisition of Phoenix IT by Daisy Group, I was promoted to the role of junior project manager to work on small to medium sized cloud and hosting IT projects. I gained invaluable experience of how to manage projects of all size and in a variety of technologies. In the two years as a Junior Project Manager, I had successfully delivered over 45 projects ranging from £1,000.00 to £33,000.00One of my most notable projects was the retirement and decommission of a large hosted customer environment in our data-center after a migration onto Microsoft Azure. This included managing a variety of different teams; those with compute and software skills, storage skills and network skills and required significant planning, organisation, logistical and communication skills. The customer where under pressure to complete the works in a small amount of time and I successfully delivered the project within budget and time despite difficult time constraints. In my final four-month period I had delivered projects totaling a combined value of over £160,000.00 and worked alongside household names for two years. My most significant project to date was the rollout of free public Wi-Fi for the NHS across 48 locations at a total project value of almost £90,000.00. I have received technical learning sessions in MITEL, SCCM, MS Azure, DHCP, AD and NetApp, Project technology exposure – Wi-Fi installations, Desktop and laptop rollouts, Network infrastructure installs, Server and SAN, Mitel/Telephony, Implementation of Skype for Business, Microsoft Office 2016 and Microsoft Office 365.
