Alex West is the CEO of Swoop (ASX:SWP), an Australian founded fixed wireless infrastructure provider looking to shake up the telecommunications landscape. Alex began working in the telco industry over 20 years ago. Swoop listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX:SWP) on 27th May 2021.Alex started his career as a graduate engineer at Telstra, before rising through the ranks to join the senior management teams at Superloop, Vocus and PIPE Networks (now TPG).In his previous role as Group COO at Superloop, Alex oversaw major fibre optic cabling projects domestically and overseas. At Vocus, Alex played an integral role in helping the business grow to be the second largest fibre infrastructure provider in Australia, in which the business grew from twenty to 3,000 staff members in six short years.At Swoop, Alex joins long-time collaborators James Spenceley (Chairman) and Matt Hollis (Sales Marketing Director). Alex previously worked with James at Vocus and has worked with Matt for over 15 years across several companies. Alex has extensive experience in leading and integrating teams, particularly across mergers and acquisitions, and takes pride in seeing his former team members grow and take on senior roles of their own. Alex holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineering from the University of Newcastle, and a Master of Engineering Management from the University of Technology, Sydney.Alex is passionate about providing the best solutions and service to customers. In his spare time, Alex enjoys camping trips with his wife and his three children.
