In my role, I saw the end-to-end internal audit process used to mitigate risk and ensure the company's internal control systems were functioning as designed. I spent my time learning the Internal Audit process and applying it to two audits covering Tax Accounting and Compliance as well as Model Risk Management. I documented planning procedures as well as testing steps through attending walkthrough meetings with higher-ups in these lines of business to gain an understanding of the controls in place and the processes used to ensure they were being executed at a high level.
