As a member of the analytics team at the Wilson Alaska Technical Center (WATC), my role is to develop new algorithms to detect, characterize, and locate nuclear events in seismic and infrasound data. The position is motivated by the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) and is a highly collaborative project between researchers around the globe and DoD affiliated agencies.

As a data scientist I designed, developed, and tested data processing algorithms for various research and academic institutions interested in distilling meaningful insights from large unstructured datasets. I worked closely with PIs and research teams to understand their research goals and develop solutions to a wide range of challenges surrounding algorithm development, software engineering, and user interfaces. Projects involved processing UAV drone imagery with various digital signal processing and machine learning technologies. Accomplishments:- Developed lightweight and efficient semantic segmentation algorithm that, unlike traditional methods, requires fewer training data and runs without multi core or GPU processing. - Published Python package to GitHub under MIT licence providing all functions required to run semantic segmentation algorithm.
