Alex is a veteran User Experience leader who has built and managed design and research teams at Google, Instagram, Etsy, The New York Times, and IBM. As a consultant, he has worked with a wide range of clients including frog design, Yahoo!, Adobe, the New York Public Library, the Long Now Foundation, and the Internet Archive.He has also written two books on the history of the information age, and more than 100 articles for publications including The New York Times, The Atlantic, and Salon.com. He speaks regularly at industry conferences and events including SxSW, Gartner Group, IAPP, UX Strat, TMRE, and the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference.Alex holds a PhD in Design from Carnegie Mellon University, an M.S. in Library and Information Science from Simmons College, and a B.A. in English and American Literature from Brown University.Specialties: User Experience, Interaction Design, UX Research, Writing, Public Speaking.
