Alex(Wu Zhen)is a Beijing-based multimedia artist, projection designer, short film director, and painter. He graduated from the School of Animation and Digital Arts at The Communication University of China in 2007, and visited University of California, Irvine as a scholar in 2010-2011. As a multi-media designer, he has collaborated with a number of theatre companies and research institutes, including The Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe, the Research Institute of Jin Opera, Wuhan Art Research Institute, etc. His video arts and short films have been selected and invited for exhibitions at The Rose Theatre (London), Walter Reade Theater (New York), Konzert Theater Bern (Swiss), the National Centre for the Performing Arts (China), and etc. His painting “Travel to Xingjiang” has been selected in the 12th China Painting Exhibition. He also publishes expensively as a scholar. His recent scholarly works include “The Research on Video Processing for Multimedia Dance/Theatre,” “Characteristics of Animation,” “Design of Original Paintings,” and “Original Paintings.” His recent articles appear in Dance, Journal of the Beijing Dance Academy, and Entertainment Technology.He currently a vise professor at the College for Creative Studies at the Beijing Dance Academy.
