I am an Associate Director and Structural Engineer at Taylor Thomson Whitting, specialising in mass timber and hybrid timber design. I have led and delivered significant projects, including the $1.4 billion Atlassian headquarters in Sydney—set to be the world’s tallest hybrid timber structure upon completion—the Shell House project as part of the $1 billion Wynyard Place redevelopment, Cowper Street Social,Housing Project, and The Bond at Norwest. With over 18 years of experience across Australia and the UK, I have successfully delivered more than 30 timber buildings, bringing valuable international expertise to local projects.My expertise extends beyond project-specific work. I’ve been engaged by School Infrastructure NSW to develop structural design guidelines and create standard designs for modern methods of construction, including Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA). This has been a particularly rewarding experience, allowing me to contribute to the future of educational infrastructure in New South Wales.As a team leader, I excel in managing and mentoring engineers, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, and meeting diverse stakeholder requirements. My hands-on approach to project management, combined with a strong focus on communication and relationship-building, has been key to my success in driving complex projects and business initiatives.My strategic focus includes developing relationships, winning work for the business, and enhancing internal processes for mass timber projects. I am committed to capability development and continuous improvement, ensuring that our initiatives are both successful and sustainable.Notable projects and career highlights include the University of Essex Business School—awarded “Engineer of the Year” at the Structural Timber Awards 2016—the award-winning GlaxoSmithKline Carbon Neutral Laboratory for Sustainable Chemistry in Nottingham, and “Nirvana,” featured on Grand Designs.
