The project was under significant time pressures so this effective management was critical in ensuring theproject’s success.Mains and Kessels Intersection UpgradeDuring the construction of the Mains and Kessels Intersection Upgrade, Alex was a project engineer responsible for roadworks and traffic staging. He managed multiple construction disciplines including Traffic Signals, Pavements, Road Lighting, ITS, Gantries and VMS Structures, Signage and Traffic Management.For Traffic Management Alex collaboratively developed the Construction Traffic Control Plan for the design and approvals process for traffic switching. Due to the complex nature of each traffic switch and the high profile location of the project, the management of this process was extremely important for both the client and construction team. As a part of the civil construction team at Bowen Hills helped manage and construct the road infrastructure from Lutwyche Road to the Clem7 tunnel. He was involved in Earthworks, Drainage, Intelligent Traffic Systems, Signage, Asphalt, Traffic Signals, Barrier & Kerb Construction.As part of the civil team Alex helped plan and traffic switches within the construction area as well as the opening to traffic event for Brisbane’s first major road tunnel.
