Everyone has a story. It's up to you to tell it. & it's up to people like me to make sure it's told in the *right way* and heard. After working in local news for nearly a decade, I decided it was time to use my strategic communication storytelling skills for a new and meaningful cause.As Chief Communications Officer (CCO) for IMPD, I am responsible for telling the story of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD). I lead the department’s communication strategy, manage media relations, and oversee the department's internal and external messaging. I prioritize transparent and timely communication between the department, our community, and key stakeholders. In addition to developing communication strategies, interfacing with other agencies and departments and reacting to breaking events as they happen, I am responsible for the department’s public relations, social media and many other creative content activities. I also have the honor of telling the story of the brave men and women who protect and serve Indy in a monthly video called “Behind The Badge." Prior to joining IMPD, I was a morning on-air reporter for FOX59/CBS4 in Indianapolis where I would rise before the sun did to report on breaking news and deliver critical information to Hoosiers starting their day. I also developed the "Pay it Forward" franchise which highlighted positive news stories around Central Indiana. Before moving to Indy, I was a reporter for Spectrum News first in Binghamton, NY and then in Syracuse NY, covering stories in two of the snowiest areas in the country.
