This summer, I worked with two teams: the Compliance team and the Securities team. I initially learned how controls help clients remain compliant with various regulations and establish protocols. I conducted several controls-related tasks, such as mapping MCPs, COSO mapping, comparing SAP configurations to identify and track defects, and performing interface assessment checks. In the Securities team, I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of authorization, authentication, and access. My primary role was to assess the quality of the roles design workbook against the system build and to flag any deviations. Overall, I gained valuable insight into how security and controls work together to maintain system integrity, ensuring that both compliance standards are maintained and that access management is effective.

Over the past year, I had the privilege of leading a community outreach project through the UGA Institute of Leadership Advancement. Our mission was to support first-time minority entrepreneurs in Cartersville by creating a tailored Startup Business Resource guide. This began with in-depth discussions with our sponsors to ensure alignment with their expectations. We then delegated tasks, focusing on conducting thorough research on business registration, tax information, and marketing strategies. Collaboration was key as we determined the best format to present the information in a digestible manner for our target audience. After executing our plan, we actively sought feedback from our clients, making necessary adjustments to ensure the guide met their needs. Finally, we proudly delivered the finalized product during an end-of-year presentation. It was rewarding to witness the impact of our efforts as we handed over the guide to empower aspiring entrepreneurs in the Cartersville community.

As part of the fintech certificate program, I collaborated with a group of students and executives from Fleetcor to develop a proposal on AI technologies for enhancing their products/services to enhance their merchants' experience. Our approach involved applying knowledge acquired from our fintech classes, leveraging our creativity and conducting field research. We reached out to merchants, interviewing them to gather opinions on potential AI-driven enhancements, particularly focusing on fuel card prototypes. We gathered their insights and ultimately developed a final proposal, which was presented to Fleetcor executives.

During my internship, I quickly assimilated into the company culture and effectively collaborated with fellow interns, associates, and partners. Together, we developed a proposal for a client aimed at enhancing their current website and business approach. Our proposal included the integration of gamification and other innovative solutions to better engage their target audience. Through this collaborative effort, we sought to optimize the client's digital presence and improve their overall business strategy.

I work in the Altizer Lab and aid in the National Project Monarch Health. My main responsibility is to assist with data entry and processing of incoming monarch health samples. Besides entering and processing data, I am also responsible for checking samples under the microscope and properly using lab equipment and following lab safety procedures.

As a bilingual liaison assistant, I am responsible for translating key information between administrators, staff, and parents. These meetings are high in intensity because I am expected to translate immediately. Through this position, I have learned how to work under pressure and this has helped me develop my communication skills.
