- Design literacy course materials for Graduate Department of Education for delivery via Learning Management Systems & in-person instruction- Guide pre-service educators in translating pedagogical theory into practice by modeling effective teaching strategies - Supervise graduate students in the education program, mentoring their preparation for state accreditation- Identify field placements appropriate to student teachers to challenge & support their professional development- Evaluate pedagogical advances in education to identify new approaches to curriculum & instruction with focus on reading in grades K-4- Provide instruction on Simple View of Reading concepts: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, & comprehension, as well as foundational skills focused on phoneme-grapheme blending automaticity for real & nonsense words, as well as orthographic mapping - Integrate Culturally Responsive Teaching practices into curriculum & instruction - Promote Social Emotional Learning by integrating interactive instruction via CASEL frameworkIntroduce multicultural literature to provide culturally & linguistically diverse students equal opportunities to acquire rich literacy curricula
