With over 2 decades of events experience and employment, in 2019 I decided to leave my 8-year Events Management job in London to go it alone and set up as a self-employed Events Specialist, offering my knowledge and skills for any type of event, whether business or private, but specialising in the interactive entertainment industry, particularly overseas trade expos.I've organised a huge number of events, worked across a variety of industries and have managed over 200 events including large and small scale exhibition stands (up to 1000sqm), conferences, gala dinners, drinks receptions, small networking events, awards ceremonies, show cases, art exhibitions, business breakfasts and lunches, political events, PR events, exhibition stands; if there’s a business event to be done, I’ve likely done it! Involved in all levels from sales (including creation of proposals), venue sourcing and negotiation, all logistics, supplier/exhibitor/sponsor liaison, stand planning and design, AV, marketing and print, budgeting (up to £500k), international shipping, international health and safety legislation, management of staff pre-event and onsite, full onsite management and even down to ordering the tea, coffee and sugar for events. Most recently for over 8 years I was the Events Manager for Ukie, the UK Association for Interactive Entertainment and was solely responsible for the organisation of overseas trade show stands, including gamescom and GDC Career highlight to date has been gamescom, Europe’s largest video games exhibition, and the 8 years I have managed the UK pavilion. Grown from a small scale 124sqm stand with 20 UK exhibitors to the biggest business stand at the show at 1000sqm, with 94 exhibitors which generated thousands of meetings and attendees.
