Shadowed an Occupational Therapist for the day at a traumatic brain rehabilitation facility, observed therapist work with clients who have experienced brain trauma and are working through their goals through therapy. Logged 5.5 hours of observation.

Interned/shadowed the therapy team for 17 hours at The Reserve. Learned first hand how to work with older adults during therapy sessions and how the team works together and separately for the outcome goal of each patient.

I was a member of a mentor/mentee program that matched young ladies with successful women. Gave me a new perspective of the corporate world and helped me figure out what I wanted to do after high school.

Was a member of an Allied Health Pathways Program funded by the University of North Texas, which allowed me to have a further look into the therapy field. Gave me the chance to meet and speak with different types of therapist and taught me how the therapy team is meaningful to the healthcare field.

Since I was in elementary school I used to help with the special education kids program and had a student assigned to me every year 3rd grade-5th grade to guide in school and help out. When I was in high school I became a part of Kacie's Run which allowed me to become a member of a group of students who planned an event each year to raise money for our special education program in the district.

Shadowed therapy team for five weeks, logged in 60 hours of observations and had the chance to experience first hand situations with the therapy team.
