About Alexa Bednarz

I am an entrepreneur making radical, positive impact in international housing development. Ocean (formerly Eco-Shelter Inc.) develops, manufactures and sells ultra-low carbon, affordable, roofing and building products. We start with the needs of consumers in emerging markets (1.6+ billion people) and develop these needs into desirable building products globally.I specialize in bringing a Human-Centered Design (HCD) approach to create thoughtful and innovative solutions within the global development and building sector. I am innately curious about people and problems, and I enjoy the challenge of connecting disparate ideas and groups in new ways. At the heart of everything I do are the relationships I build with people. I am deeply energized by using business as a force for good and developing long-term partnerships that support a vision of making the world a better, more equitable place.
