Alexa Clark, also known as Lex, is the founder of From Lex's Pantry, a company that offers a variety of unique spice blends, rubs, marinades and seasonings. Lex's background in the food industry started early, at 5, selling organic vegetables in the Saint John City Market. From there she has worked front-of-the-house, back-of-the-house, farm to fryer as she completed her BMath and started her career in interactive technology & digital marketing. She is the Creator and Publisher of the best-selling CheapEats Restaurant Guides, past Co-Chair of Second Harvest's Toronto Taste, co-founder of HoHoTO and co-founder & host of the Secret Pickle Supper Club. Social Media Lead - ProbonoConquer Covid19 Apr 2020 - Sep 2020Conquer COVID-19 is a grassroots volunteer-driven initiative comprised of physicians, business leaders, entrepreneurs, engineer, students and over 120 volunteers working together to ensure frontline workers responsible for the health and well-being of Canadians have access to masks, gloves, and other supplies that are essential in treating patients and minimizing the spread of the virus.In 4 short months, we built a private PPE supply chain during a global pandemic. Conquer COVID-19 partnered with Olympian Hayley Wickenheiser, blessed by actor Ryan Reynolds, generously supported by the Thistledown Foundation, Volvo Canada, Purolator, XYZ Storage, Canadian Tire, ToysRus. We grew from a handful of friends to 120+ volunteers, raised over $2.36 million in donations, and distributed PPE across Canada to healthcare and frontline workers in urgent need at hospitals, long-term care facilities, shelters and other essential locations looking after Canada's most vulnerable. Our story has been told in 600+ media articles. Over 23K wear our Conquer COVID-19 t-shirts. Our true strength was our diversity with 70% BIPOC, >50% women on our senior leadership team. Our diversity served us by empowering us to solve big challenges creatively, effectively and quickly while taking into account the needs of all Canadians. Alexa, and her Co-Chair Cheri Dueck (2014) and Neilesh Daji (2015), lead a team of dedicated volunteers in supporting the Second Harvest team as they plan the ultimate culinary experience of the year for Toronto’s food lovers.Toronto Taste 2015 raised in excess of $835,000 for Second Harvest and it's No Waste. No Hunger. food rescue mission. Prior to co-chairing the event, Alexa supported Second Harvest as a steering committee member starting in 2008 as the Social Media Lead and the Chair of the Communications Committee.

After the tremendous buzz on social media after the first event, the positive feedback and the many sad faces without tickets, Matt and Alexa decided to make it a regular thing. One of a kind themed dinner parties in some of the most interesting venues around the city, we introduce our guests to cuisines, flavours and exciting new concepts in food. Our themes include:- Ingredient-focus - e.g. Coffee dinner at Te Aro; - Cuisine-focus - e.g. Contemporary Vegan dinner; - Regional-focus - e.g. Tasting Tour of Spain; and - Beverage-focus - e.g. our Beer Pickle with guest Cicerone. Often cited as one of the first examples of a hyper-connected social media movement using the power of self-organizing online groups to make a real world difference, HoHoTO has raised over $225,000 and over four tons of food for Daily Bread Food Bank since it's launch in Dec 2008. Each year the HoHoTO team hosts a party for more than 600 enthusiastic people from the local tech, media, digital marketing, social media and PR communities.
