Since becoming an Interior Architecture and Design Student at the Fay Jones School at the University of Arkansas, my love for detail and design has continually grown. My approach to design is fueled by my passion for creating spaces that evoke positive emotions and help people feel comfortable and connected. I am currently a fourth-year student pursuing a minor in Sustainability along with my design degree. I believe sustainability relates closely to design and is important in all aspects of life. During the spring 2023 semester, I was nominated by one of my faculty members and was honored to accept the Michael J. Buono “Green Award” Medal, an award given to “A student that demonstrates the greatest concern in the design studios, cognate courses, and the community for environmental, ecological, and energy conservation.” I love learning about wellness and how it corresponds with an interior environment. My involvement on campus outside of class includes being a student member of the Fay Jones ASID Chapter, and Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. During the Summer of 2023, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Rome, Italy to further my education in historic architecture and Italian design. Following my return from Italy, I had the opportunity to shadow Boka Powell in Dallas and Dallas Design Group. I am now an Intern at Meet West studio, a residential firm in Fayetteville, Arkansas where I am gaining amazing hands-on experience. I am looking forward to future opportunities that will allow me to apply my skills and passion for design and am excited for what I can learn while contributing to the success of any firm In which I may be involved.
