Christos Alexakos was born in Athens, Greece, in 1979. He the Dipl. Eng. degree in Computer Engineering and Informatics (2003), the MSc in Computer Science and Engineering (2006) and the Ph. D. (2015) from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the University of Patras, Greece. He is now researcher at the Pattern Recognition Laboratory of the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics, University of Patras. He is also collaborating as a research engineer at the Industrial Systems Institute and Computer Technology Institute. Furthermore, he was adjunct lecturer, from 2005 to 2012, in the Department of Applied Informatics at Management and Economy, Technical Educational Institute of Messologhi. His research is related with Semantic Web, Computational and Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Agents applications in the fields of enterprise and industrial integration, cloud computing, medical imaging and data, e-learning, digital culture and information retrieval in the WWW. He has published more than 25 articles in international scientific journals and conference proceedings, having more than 170 citations. He has 12-year experience in development of software applications, both web-based and standalone including databases applications, GIS and service-oriented applications. He worked as software engineer at 15 research and development projects funded from national and European programs. He is the Technical Manager of Pattern Recognition Laboratory and, in the last 5 years, he was project manager in four development projects that carried out by the laboratory. Since September 2013, he is member of the Website Editorial Board of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM).At October 2013, he founded with his colleagues InSyBio Ltd. InSyBio provides a cloud-driven Software as a Service software suite – called InSyBio Suite – which assists biology researchers in extracting valuable biological knowledge from experimental data.
