Preparing Pre-Service Teachers to Design Inquiry-Oriented Social Studies Instruction || April 2020 - Present• Internally-funded project to study preservice teachers learning to plan for inquiry-oriented instruction as part of a methods course. Conceptualized project, wrote IRB and all accompanying documentation, and conducted survey and virtual focus groups. Graduate Research Assistant: The Development of Ambitious Instruction in Elementary Mathematics and ELA || May 2018 - Present• NSF & Spencer Foundation funded project to study elementary teacher preparation and early-career classroom practice. Responsibilities include video observation and scoring for the PLATO classroom observation protocol; design and maintenance of a video scoring inventory for 90 observation participants over multiple years; multi-round survey administration using Qualtrics; data cleaning and analysis using Stata; collaborating on data collection and analysis plans in monthly project meetings. Anti-Bias Family Engagement Training || August 2017 - Present • Internally-funded project to study pre-service and in-service elementary anti-bias family engagement training, including community resource and home visits.
