For me, Retail is much more than making sales; it is an opportunity to connect with others, share stories, and express yourself. As a Corporate Retail Professional, my approach to Merchandising, Sourcing, and Buying is centered around the customer and creating an item or assortment that is unique and portrays a message. Here is a glimpse into how I accomplish that:Strategic Merchandising:I don’t just create displays and assortments; I showcase a visual story that speaks to the customer. My approach is rooted in having a deep understanding of the unique needs of each customer. I study purchasing trends and analyze the market to see what is current and what the customer relates to. I take pride in my Merchandising Strategies and through rotating featured items on displays I helped my assigned storefront in Disney achieve a new revenue record. This accomplishment is a testament to the dedication I have to merchandising to the customer and showcasing items that tell their story.Communication:Communication is key, and my experience has helped me master it. Building connections, understanding the unique needs of each customer, and further communicating that with my team are what helped me drive an increase in revenue in each store I worked at. At Disney, I created a local newsletter that was shared physically in stock/ break rooms and through social media posts. The newsletter helped keep Cast Members engaged with upcoming events and celebrations that they could then use to further connect with our guests. Creating Solutions:No two customers are alike, and neither are my solutions. I pride myself in crafting unique solutions to any challenge a customer may be facing. For my Senior Capstone project, I was tasked with creating a product that solved a problem. I chose to create a product that I failed to see the market provide; accessible professional attire. Utilizing extensive research, I created a pair of trousers that are accessible to those with physical disabilities. These trousers display my passion for creating solutions and tailoring them to customers' specific needs. I am excited to connect and collaborate with professionals who share my passion, and I am eager to contribute my skills and experience to make a meaningful impact on my next organization. Together we can tell a story through merchandise and make our customers feel seen and heard.
