I’m a professional and an athlete - an ex-consultant who gets my energy from both work and time on the basketball court. As I grew older, recovering from injuries took longer and the opportunity cost of getting hurt escalated. I faced a dilemma: keep playing the game I love and risk other increasingly important priorities -my career, my family, travel, friends- or play it safe and stop playing. But it was a false dilemma. Injuries aren’t inevitable if you have the right equipment, and shoes are the foundation. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a shoe on the market with a POV or a design to de-risk basketball and extend player longevity. Meanwhile, runners, hikers and skiers enjoy an abundance of function-driven products. So, I decided to leave consulting and put my strategy, BD, partnerships, sales, go-to-market, and leadership experience to use by creating a product that allows me, and others like me, to keep doing what we love, both on & off the court.
