I was tasked with a Data Engineering problem early in my career, and was struggling. Alex asked me "are you gonna give up because it's challenging, or is this an opportunity to learn and get better as something new?" This gave me a new perspective and I persisted and persevered and not only successfully delivered on that project but am more skilled at Data Engineering than ML these days. Alex has a very deep product mindset, which in combination with his engineering skills, puts him in a unique position to speak about the product his team is working on or has built for the customer. Alex is able to translate the complexities and nuances of the engineering work into layman's terms for the customer while also emphasizing the important features that the engineering team has created. Finally Alex is, quite simply put, a very genuinely nice and good person. He is always thinking of how to enable and put others in the best position to succeed. He is easy to get along with, and contributes significantly to company/team culture.
