Working as a Stage 3 Crane operator on board a DP3 Multi Service Vessel, operating Liebherr 100t + 200t and 50t cranes. Operation of flotel gangway, connected to various platforms. Responsible for crane operations on board the vessel, including the supervision of deck crew on nightshift. Assisting the onboard crane engineers in their duties. HLO Duties as and when required. Working onboard a Semi Submersible accommodation barge in the North Sea, being responsible to the stability section leader for the upkeep and maintenance of the deck, adhering to the companies planned maintenance plans, and being part of the vessel’s fire team, operating anchor winches during rig move operations. Operating and maintaining the onboard cranes, carrying out planned maintenance and daily / weekly / monthly checks on them, loading and backloading cargo, transfer of bulk hoses etc. HLO duties, responsible for the safe landing of helicopters. Performing Rigging and Lifting operations on the deck as and when required.

As an Operator Mechanic I primarily worked under the supervision of the Weapons Section Chief Petty Officer where my duties included the daily checking of the ships navigational and defence radar systems, testing these systems for faults and resetting them if necessary, the maintenance of the ships electrical, hydraulic and mechanical weapons systems including the stripping down, servicing and rebuilding them after use or when required by the ships maintenance schedule. During night watches I worked as the Weapons Engineering Roundsman, responsible to the command for the safe running of all operational equipment during the hours of darkness, checking these systems hourly. During steaming watches I was on watch as the Surface Picture Supervisor, Responsible to the command for a clear concise up to date radar picture. When not on watch I worked as an Able Seaman on deck and during action stations I was employed as one of the ship's gunner's.
