Hello! I am Alex Young! I am currently seeking employment as a Software Engineer to translate my academic skills into a professional setting. I am especially interested in any Software Engineering roles that relate to Artificial Intelligence. I am a MSc AI graduate from the University of St Andrews and have a BS from the University of Southern California in Computer Science. My core interest lies in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and AI. I developed and explored these interests through my work at the Signal Analysis and Interpretation Laboratory at USC, university studies, and personal projects. My technical skills are strongest in Python, Java, and C++. I wish to explore more about how computer can understand human interaction more namely through understanding of text. I am especially excited about the rise of LLMs and the possibilities that arise as a tool to aid human development and understanding.
